Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026 · Effective: 9 October 2026
Network Test measures the quality of your Wi-Fi and cellular connections. The measurements it produces are stored on your phone and are not uploaded to us.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- Your test results, network names and signal readings stay on your device. We operate no servers that receive them.
- Location is off by default and is only saved with a test if you switch it on yourself.
- The free version shows ads supplied by Google AdMob, which collects data under Google's own policy. Removing ads stops that.
- Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
1. Who we are
Network Test is published by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@clicksolutionspro.com about anything in this policy.
This policy covers the Network Test application for Android and the pages on
clicksolutionspro.com/networktest/.
2. What the app measures and keeps on your device
When you run a check, the app records the following and saves it in a database on your phone. The newest 25 tests are kept; older ones are deleted automatically.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Wi-Fi network | Network name (SSID), access point identifier (BSSID), signal strength, band, channel and width, Wi-Fi standard, link speed, local IP address, gateway |
| Cellular network | Mobile operator name, MCC/MNC, network generation (2G–5G), RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, RSSI, cell identifier, PCI, TAC, ARFCN, band, roaming status |
| Performance | Download and upload speed, latency, jitter, packet loss, bytes transferred, which measurement engine was used |
| Device | Phone model, Android version, app version, test duration and timestamp |
| Your input | The optional name you give a test, and your settings |
This data is not transmitted to us. There is no backend account system and no cloud sync. It exists only in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
Location
Saving your geographic position with a test is off by default. If you turn on Save location with results in Settings, the latitude, longitude and accuracy at the moment of the test are stored alongside it — still only on your device. Switching the setting off stops new tests from recording it.
Note that Android requires the location permission before it will reveal a Wi-Fi network name or cell identity to any app, even when the app does not want your position. That is an operating-system rule, not our choice, and granting it does not cause your position to be stored.
3. What leaves your device
3.1 Measurement traffic
To measure speed and latency the app must send and receive data over the network being tested. That traffic goes to a measurement server, which — like any server you connect to — can see your public IP address, the approximate time of the connection and the volume of data transferred. It does not receive your network names, your cell identity or your location.
The app also sends a small connectivity probe to Google's
generate_204 endpoint to establish whether a connection actually reaches the
internet.
If you configure your own measurement server in Settings, that traffic goes to the address you entered and is subject to the policy of whoever runs it.
3.2 Advertising
The free version displays ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, Google collects information such as your advertising identifier, IP address, device characteristics and interactions with ads. We do not receive this data and we do not provide Google with your test results.
How Google uses data from apps that use its services is described here: google.com/policies/technologies/partner-sites. Google's advertising policy is at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
You can limit ad personalisation or reset your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Purchasing the ad-free version, or redeeming a valid code, stops all ad loading in the app.
3.3 Purchases
Payments are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see your card number, billing address or any payment detail; we only receive confirmation from Google that a purchase for this app exists. See Google's Privacy Policy.
3.4 Analytics
The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We do not track how you use it.
4. Permissions, and what each one is for
| Permission | Why | If you decline |
|---|---|---|
| Location (precise) | Android will not disclose the Wi-Fi network name, BSSID or cell identity without it | The test still runs; those fields are blank |
| Phone state | Reading the mobile operator, network generation and cellular signal values | The test still runs; cellular radio details are blank |
| Notifications | Showing progress while a test continues in the background | The test still runs without a notification |
| Network access and state | Performing the measurement and telling Wi-Fi and cellular apart | Granted at install; required for the app to function |
No permission is requested when you first open the app. They are asked for when you start a check, and a refusal never blocks the measurement.
5. Keeping and deleting your data
- The app keeps the most recent 25 tests; beyond that, the oldest is removed whenever a new one is saved.
- Settings → Clear history deletes every saved test immediately.
- Uninstalling the app removes its database and settings from your phone.
- If Android backup is enabled on your device, your saved tests may be included in your own Google backup. That backup belongs to your Google account and is governed by Google's terms, not ours.
6. Children
Network Test is a technical utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will address it.
7. Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold your personal data on any server, there is no account for us to export or erase — the data is in your hands, on your device, and the controls above let you delete it at any time.
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws apply to you, your rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection are satisfied by that same local control. For the data that advertising partners collect, those rights must be exercised with the partner — start with the Google links in section 3.2. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA, beyond the advertising described above.
If you believe your rights have not been respected you may complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
Test results are held in the app's private storage, which the Android sandbox isolates from other applications. No credentials are collected, so none can be exposed. No measure is perfect, and a rooted or compromised device weakens every protection the operating system offers.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will be updated and the revised version published on this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
