1. Information We Collect

WiFi Monitor Plus collects the following information from your device during each scan:

• WiFi Network Data: SSID, BSSID, signal strength (RSSI), frequency, channel, band, and IP address of your connected network.
• Performance Metrics: Ping latency, jitter, and packet loss to your gateway and the internet.
• Device Information: Device model, OS version, app version, and a randomly generated device ID.
• Battery Level: The battery percentage of your device at the time of each scan.
• Public IP Address: Your external IP address, checked every 5 minutes to detect ISP-level changes.
• LAN Devices: IP addresses and hostnames of devices discovered on your local network.
• Nearby Networks: SSID, BSSID, signal strength, and channel of nearby WiFi networks (scanned every 15 minutes).
• Connection Events: WiFi disconnections, reconnections, roaming events, and band steering events.

2. How We Use Your Data

All collected data is used solely to provide the WiFi monitoring and analytics features of the application. Specifically:

• To display real-time and historical network performance on your personal dashboard.
• To detect and alert you about WiFi disconnections, IP changes, and roaming events.
• To generate charts and reports about your network health over time.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored exclusively in a Google Firebase / Firestore database. The app connects to your own Firebase project using your unique home invite code. We do not operate a central server that collects or aggregates user data.

You have full control over your data through the web dashboard, including the ability to delete individual scan records or your entire home at any time.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. The only external service your data is sent to is:

• Google Firebase / Firestore: For data storage and real-time synchronization. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• ipify.org: An anonymous API used to determine your public IP address. No personal data is sent to this service.

5. Permissions

The app requires the following Android permissions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Required by Android to scan for WiFi networks.
• NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES: Required on Android 13+ to access WiFi information.
• ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: To read WiFi connection details.
• INTERNET: To upload scan data to Firebase and check public IP.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE: To run background scanning while the app is minimized.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To restart monitoring after device reboot.

6. Data Retention

Data is retained in your Firebase project until you choose to delete it. You can delete individual records, all scans for a device, or your entire home from the web dashboard at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

WiFi Monitor Plus is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
